FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Unsure about how we work? We have gathered the most common questions for your convenience.

Often, yes. This service is useful where your business is not just posting a privacy policy on a website, but also storing customer records, using software providers, sharing information with service partners, or needing an internal response plan if something goes wrong. It is broader than a single-document job because it deals with outward-facing privacy wording, internal breach response planning and a template for processor arrangements. If your setup is especially complex, we can also flag whether separate advice or additional work would be more appropriate.

It commonly helps with gaps between what a business says publicly and what it actually does with personal information. That can include unclear collection notices, missing explanations about sharing or storage, no documented response steps for a suspected breach, or weak paperwork with third-party providers handling information on your behalf. How you collect, use and disclose information will shape both the drafting and the advice. If the practical process differs from the written documents, that mismatch can create legal risk.

The service includes three core items: a privacy policy, a data breach response plan and a data processing agreement template. Together, these cover customer-facing privacy disclosures, internal steps for dealing with a breach scenario, and a starting point for documenting arrangements with providers that process information for your business. The fixed-fee covers those stated legal deliverables and related legal input on the information you provide. It does not include technical implementation, security remediation, or ongoing representation in dealings with a regulator or affected individuals.

Once the documents are delivered, the next step is usually implementation. That may involve publishing the privacy policy in the right places, making sure staff know where the breach response plan sits and who is responsible for using it, and deciding when the data processing agreement template should be used with suppliers. We can explain the intended use of each document, but the fixed-fee does not cover technical rollout, security fixes or ongoing monitoring. Many businesses also use this point to tidy up forms, onboarding flows and vendor records so practice matches the documents.

The If the work needs to go beyond the agreed scope, we will flag it early and give you a separate quote. After you engage, we gather the relevant background about your information flows, providers and current practices, then prepare the included documents and explain the main points that need attention. If you later need extra work such as negotiating vendor terms, extensive policy rollouts, technical changes, or ongoing privacy support, that would be quoted separately rather than assumed to be included.
