Frequently asked questions
Unsure about how we work? We have gathered the most common questions for your convenience.
Our fixed-fee Service Agreement packages start at $900 + GST. This includes a Service Agreement drafted to meet your business requirements, phone consultations with our legal team, and one complimentary amendment to the final draft we provide.
A Service Agreement is a legally binding agreement between two parties. Usually, this is the person providing the service and the person purchasing the service. It sets out that one party will perform certain services for the other in exchange for payment.
A Service Agreement usually includes:
- Scope
- Term
- Payment
- Warranties
- Customer obligations
- Intellectual property
- Liability
- Dispute resolution
- Termination
- Force majeure
While you want everything to run smoothly in business, that does not always happen. A written Service Agreement helps make sure both parties understand what is expected of them.
As a business owner, you want your contract to include enough detail and clearly explain what will happen if things go wrong. For example, if the client suffers a loss, what will you do to fix the situation? Or what happens if the client does not pay for services you have properly provided?
The parties are the business owner, usually a contractor, and the client purchasing the service.
Service Agreements can apply across many different industries. If you are providing any kind of service, or receiving a service, you should have a proper contract in place.
Some examples of the Service Agreements we offer include:
- NDIS service agreement
- Master services agreement
- IT services agreement
- Marketing services agreement
- Cleaner services agreement
- Electrical services agreement
If you don’t see exactly what you need, we can tailor something to suit your business.
Submit an enquiry through this page or click the ‘get started’ button on our website. Once you’ve submitted your enquiry, one of our legal consultants will review it within 1 business day and get in touch to better understand what you’re looking for.
Your legal consultant will then send you an email with more information about the services you need, along with a fixed-fee quote setting out the costs, scope of the service, and timing. If you’re happy with the scope, you can accept and sign our engagement letter online.
Once you’ve formally accepted, we’ll connect you with a specialist lawyer who will work with you to complete your project. They’ll contact you by email or phone if needed.
Our legal team is made up of experienced lawyers who specialise in different areas of law and hold Australian legal practising certificates. None of our Sprintlaw lawyers are New Zealand-qualified lawyers, and they do not currently hold New Zealand practising certificates.
They provide legal services remotely from Australia through our ‘legal consultancy’ model. Under section 6 and section 35 of the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006, our Australian legal team are permitted to provide legal services to New Zealand businesses, provided they do not provide services in certain ‘reserved’ areas of law. You can read our FAQ page to learn more about our ‘legal consultancy’ model.
Given the strong similarities between Australian and New Zealand law, and the areas in which we practise, being small business and startup law, we do not view the fact that our lawyers are not qualified in New Zealand as having any substantive impact on the quality of our service. We are committed to providing high quality, affordable legal services to all our New Zealand clients.
Our legal team have all trained at leading Australian firms, but left the traditional corporate law world to join us in creating a new and better way of delivering legal services. They have specialist expertise in technology law, intellectual property law, contract drafting and review, corporate law, and commercial law.
