Set Up A Special Purpose Company

A Special Purpose Company is one way to set up your not-for-profit organisation. It allows you to set up your organisation as a private entity limited by shares. This means you will have shareholders and directors, and your organisation's primary purpose will be to make a profit, such as by paying dividends to shareholders.

A Special Purpose Company must apply its income to promoting charitable purposes, prohibit distributions to its members and the payment of fees to its directors, and require its directors to approve any other payments the company makes to them.
