FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Unsure about how we work? We have gathered the most common questions for your convenience.

This is often worthwhile when a clinic, platform or provider has moved consultations online, expanded into remote care, added new practitioner workflows, or realised that its documents and processes have grown in different directions. Telehealth can involve a mix of patient communications, consent steps, privacy handling, platform use and professional obligations, so issues often arise from the interaction between those parts rather than from one document alone. A broader review can help if you want a clearer picture of where the main legal pressure points sit before problems become harder to unwind.

The answer depends on what you are actually trying to get done, but common issues include patient consent wording that does not match the real consultation process, privacy materials that do not reflect how information is collected, used and shared, unclear boundaries between the platform and the practitioner role, and inconsistent records around bookings, communications or follow-up care. In some cases, the problem is not the wording itself but the gap between the documented process and what staff or practitioners do in practice. That practical mismatch can be just as important as the document set.

Business practices matter a great deal. A useful version should be based on your real data practices, not just a generic list of privacy clauses, and telehealth is a good example of that. A privacy policy or consent form may look reasonable on paper, but if the booking flow, practitioner communications, storage methods or information-sharing steps work differently in reality, the risk analysis can change. Your data collection points, internal use and third-party sharing arrangements all affect the way this should be drafted, so the review considers both the paperwork and the real operating model.

It helps to provide the main materials that show how the telehealth service works, such as patient terms, privacy documents, consent forms, website or platform wording, practitioner-facing materials, intake forms, workflow notes and any internal policies relevant to online care delivery. We may also ask about who provides the care, how bookings and communications happen, what technology is used, and how patient information moves between staff, practitioners and systems. Those details help us identify whether the legal risk sits in the documents, the process, or both.

The review can identify where your privacy, consent or patient-facing documents appear out of step with the way the service operates, and the report can point to the changes that should be prioritised. However, the fixed-fee is for the compliance review itself, not for drafting a full replacement set of documents. If the review shows that your privacy policy, consent forms, platform terms or practitioner documents need substantial work, we can scope that as separate follow-on legal work.

Submit an enquiry on this page or click 'Get started'. One of our legal consultants will review it within 1 business day and get in touch to understand what you need.

Your consultant will then email you a fixed-fee quote setting out the cost, scope and timing. If you're happy with it, you can accept the quote and sign our engagement letter online.

Once you've accepted, one of our Australian-qualified lawyers will work with you to complete your project. They'll contact you by email or phone if they need anything.

Sprintlaw works on fixed-fee pricing wherever possible, so you can review the scope and cost before you decide whether to proceed. For the Telehealth Compliance Pack service, pricing starts from $2,000.00.

After you enquire, a legal consultant will confirm what is included, the expected timing and whether any extra work is needed before you engage us.

We work online, so we can help wherever you are in New Zealand. Our team works remotely, mainly from Australia.
